Emily Procter

 

American actress Emily Mallory Procter, born October 8, 1968, is also an activist. In the NBC political drama The West Wing, she played Ainsley Hayes (2000-2002;2006) and Det. Calleigh Duquesne in the CBS police procedural drama CSI Miami (2002-2012). Procter was born on the night of October 8th the 8th of October, 1968. She was adopted as an infant by William Procter, a general practitioner as well as Barbara Jones, a volunteer worker. She was raised in Raleigh, North Carolina. After her parents divorced, she was only three years old. of age. She has an older brother named Whit also adopted. Procter was a student at Ravenscroft School in Raleigh. While at East Carolina University, she became a member of Alpha Delta Pi sorority and worked as a television weather anchor for WNCT-TV in Greenville, North Carolina, later graduating with degrees in dance and journalism .After Procter moved to Los Angeles her father arranged for her to attend acting school for two years. Prior to graduating she was already in the running for various small film roles such as Cameron Crowe's sports romantic comedy-drama Jerry Maguire (1996), and as a co-star David Schwimmer and Chris Cooper in the television film Breast Men (1997). Procter played the role of Lana Lang on the ABC superhero drama Lois & Clark, The New Adventures of Superman. In the TV movie The Dukes of Hazzard Reunion she was briefly on screen. (1997) as Mavis and the show Body Shots (1999) as Whitney Bryant.
