Rose McGowan

 

Rosa Arianna "Rose", born on 5 September 1973 is an American actress. McGowan made her film debut in 1992 in Encino Man (1992), and was nominated for an Independent Spirit Award nomination in 1995 for her performance in the dark comedy The Doom Generation (1995). Her breakthrough came in the film horror Scream (1996) and later was the lead in the film Going All the Way (1997) Devil in the Flesh (1998) and Jawbreaker (1999). McGowan is most famous for her character in Charmed which was a supernatural-themed drama series that aired on WB from 2001 to the year 2006. Quentin Tarantino directed her double-feature film Grindhouse (2006), in which she was awarded the Saturn Award for Best Actress as well as the Scream Award to Best Scream Queen. McGowan was in the action thriller series Chosen (2014) as well as released her debut album, Planet 9, in 2018, which was followed by a repackaging in 2020. In 2017 Time honored McGowan as one of the Silence Breakers, the magazine's Person of the Year because she spoke out about sexual harassment and assault particularly in relation to the Harvey Weinstein sexual abuse cases and the Me Too movement. Brave is her autobiography. Citizen Rose was her documentary series. Both of these were released in 2018.
