Maureen O'Hara Biography

 Maureen O'Hara was a renowned American actor and singer of Irish descent. The green-eyed beauty sporting flaming hair was popular for her passionate and fiery roles in several American films. Her stunning look and natural beauty were well-received. She was known in Hollywood as the "Queen of Technicolor". Her roles on screen reflect her strong, brave spirit that fought for survival and recognition in a male-dominated society. She always called herself the "tough Irish lass" who did not compromise her respect and reputation to be able to play the roles she wanted through merit. She was a vocal supporter of women's roles on television and in films, and gained many followers as a result. Her autobiography, "Tis Herself", was published in 2004. It gave an honest and candid account of her life, including the struggles she faced as she climbed the ladder to success. She was an adventurous woman who was not afraid to attempt herself at her own tricks. She starred in over 60 films and was a star all around the globe. In 1968, she remarried with Charles F. Blair Jr. who was a former pilot chief and brigadier who pioneered transatlantic aviation. After a few years of their union, O'Hara decided to finally quit her job. Blair was tragically killed during an airplane crash in 1978, bringing an end to O'Hara's joy. The same year, she was diagnosed with uterine carcinoma and required surgery immediately. She was successful in recovering. She suffered six heart attacks, a short-term memory loss, and diabetes type 2 over the next years. O'Hara was 95 years old. She peacefully died in Boise on the 24th October of 2015.
