Paula Patton
Paula Patton is the daughter of Joyce
(Vanraden) Patton and Charles Patton. Her father is African-American, while her
mother is caucasian and has German, English and Dutch ancestry. Her family
lived right next to the 20th Century Fox lot as she was growing-up, and she was
a huge fan of movies from her earliest days. Her mother was a school teacher
and her father was an attorney. Paula claims that she used to escape from her
mother by pretending to be someone else while young. It's not a surprise to learn
that she was a part of Hamilton Magnet Arts High School's high school
productions. Her most loved role was "Abigail" from "The
Crucible". After having graduated from the University of Southern
California's summer school, she studied film and was assigned a three-month
assignment to create documentaries on PBS. It led her to work as a production
assistant on TV documentaries, and also on Howie Mandel's talk show. Later, she
produced documentaries for Medical Diaries (2000 on Discovery Health Channel).
Paula declares she loves the work she does, but her dream was still the same.
She took acting lessons and then switched to becoming a performer. She was a
star within a matter of days and was in Hitch (2006), Idlewild (2006) Idlewild
(2006), and Deja Vu (2006) as the female lead.
